The Young Philanthropists is an organization designed to foster philanthropy by bringing together young people in the community to learn about philanthropy and make annual grants to local nonprofits. Young Philanthropists must be young (21-40-ish), make a minimum donation of $125 per year of which 75% of the donation will go into a permanent endowment fund and 25% will go into a grant making fund to award to a deserving charity or cause each year in Las Cruces or southern New Mexico.  The charity is chosen by Young Philanthropists.

In addition to philanthropy, participants in the Young Philanthropists will build new friendships through three social events held each year and work together for the common good of southern New Mexico.

• Join us for a non-hosted Happy Hour on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Ruby Tuesdays on North Telshor in Las Cruces from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.   Come to simply mingle and meet other people.  Our social events are open to all!  Appetizers are $5 until 6 p.m.; $1 off of beer and wine until 6:30 p.m. with $5 cocktails all day/evening.  

• The next "Second Monday Luncheon" servies will be  held Monday, February 13, 2012 from noon to 12:45 p.m. at Lorenzo's Italian Restaurant at 1753 E University Avenue.  Anyone is invited to attend!  The cost is $10 for YP members and $12 for guests and all others.  This includes a nice lunch and and enjoying a Guest Speaker.
