TEN YEARS AND COUNTING!!  Although we're young, we're powerful.  The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico was created by people who believed that giving where you live is essential.  As one of the charter board members, Lou Sisbarro, said: "Every good community must have a strong foundation."

Year 2000: Incorporated as a 501(c)(3)
Year 2001: Launched a campaign to match endowments created by local agencies
Year 2004: The Healthcare Foundation of Southern New Mexico (formerly MMC Foundation)
became a Supporting Organization
Year 2007:  Founded ChildSafe/NiñosSeguros to prevent child abuse in southern New Mexico, receiving more than $468,000 in federal funding to be distributed over 3 years to nonprofit organizations in southern New Mexico dedicated to the purpose.
Year 2008:  Re-positioning and re-structuring for a major campaign
 Year 2009: Launced the Nonprofit Economic Crisis Campaign in response to the economic crisis, which affected many local nonprofits as they were facing a decrease in funding and an increase in individuals and families seeking their services.
