 HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION OF SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO
2010 COMMITTEES

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

Purpose: The Governance Committee will: 1) review Bylaws and policies; 2) evaluate Board of Trustees performance; 3) evaluate Strategic Plan and its implementation; 4) accept nominations for prospective Trustees.

INVESTMENT COMMITTEE

Purpose: The Investment Committee will: 1) review the Investment Policy annually; 2) evaluate the Money Manager Consultant annually; 3) review the performance of the money managers with the Consultant on a quarterly basis; 4) project the Foundation's requirements and communicate to the Consultant on a quarterly basis; 5) perform site visits and report to board regarding real estate assets.

AUDIT COMMITTEE

Purpose: The Audit Committee will have oversight of: 1) the qualifications, independence and performance of the auditor; 2) the performance of the Foundation's internal control processes; 3) compliance by the Foundation with financial, legal and regulatory requirements; 4) compliance with the guidelines set forth by the IRS for a Supporting Organization.

DONOR DEVELOPMENT/SPECIAL EVENTS

Purpose: The Development Committee will: 1) develop a plan to promote the Foundation, its programs and services to existing donors and potential donors, including annual visits; 2) build endowments and planned gifts with existing and potential donors; 3) maintain contact with professional advisors; 4) plan and promote Signature evens such as the Annual Meeting, anniversary celebration of First Step Center or other events as may become necessary.

SCHOLARSHIP AND GRANT AWARDS COMMITTEE

Purpose: The Scholarship/Grant Awards Committee will: 1) monitor the process for awarding healthcare scholarships; 2) oversee the distributable income from endowments for educational scholarships; 3) consider and manage the applications received for the unrestricted funds held by the Foundation.

BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP OF SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO

Purpose: The Breast Cancer Support Group will: 1) provide programs and services, including regular meetings for women with breast cancer; 2) have oversight of the mammogram and medical consultation funds in the Foundation; 3) seek additional revenues for the funds.

Mission:  The mission of the Breast Cancer Support Group of Southern New Mexico is to provide emotional support for all those touched by Breast Cancer, educate the general public on Breast Cancer issues, develop outreach strategies, recruit knowedgeable speakers for monthly meetings and to sponsor Cancer Awareness.

Meetings:  Meetings of the Breast Cancer Support Group of Southern New Mexico are open to anyone touched by Breast Cancer and are held on the 4th Saturday of each month at 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. (coffee is at 9:30 a.m.).  Meetings are held in the Lobby/Community Education Room, Mountain View Regional Medical Center, 4311 E Lohman, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
