SCHOLARSHIPS
CRITERIA FOR SUNSPOT SOLAR/MELLOW AND JANET HONEK SCHOLARSHIP: A Native American male or female high school graudating senior from New Mexico or the Oklahoma Cherokee Nation planning to attend New Mexico State Univeristy (NMSU) in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Scholarship amount for the 2013-2014 academic year: approximately $1500
CRITERIA FOR BARRY MCCLURE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: A male of female high school graduating senior entering a track, golf or golf management program at any university in the State of New Mexico. At the time of the high school graduation, the student must be a resident of Doña Ana County. The student must be graduting with an overall GPA of 2.5 minimum.
Scholarship amount for the 2013-2014 academic year: $1,000
CRITERIA FOR HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP: Minority student graduating from a local area high school; enrollment at New Mexico State University or Doña Ana Branch Community College; financial need, and demonstrated participation in high school and community activities. Scholarship amount for the 2013-2014 academic year: approximately $500
CRITERIA FOR THE KEVIN T. RIEDEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: One or more awards will be made annually. Eligible applicants will meet the following criteria: (1) Active membership in the Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association. (2) A graduating high school senior or current good standing enrollment in a higher education institution including professional and trade schools. (3) Continued development and activity in soccer officiating or soccer community volunteerism.
Scholarship amount for the 2013-2014 academic year: approximately $300
CRITERIA FOR OVER THE RAINBOW SCHOLARSHIP: The Over the Rainbow Scholarship can be awarded to a non-traditional* female undergraduate student attending either New Mexico State University or Doña Ana Community College.
* "Non-traditional" is defined as women who are not entering or did not enter college directly from high school.
Scholarship amounts range from $300 to $1000
CRITERIA FOR R.W. VAN PELT SCHOLARSHIP: Senior graduating from Mayfield High School, Las Cruces, in 2011 and enrolling as an education major at New Mexico State University with demonstrated participation in high school and community activities and a grade point average of 3.0 and above. Scholarship amount for the 2013-2014 academic year: $750
CRITERIA FOR SPRINGBOARD! SCHOLARSHIP: The SpringBoard! Scholarships can be awarded to both traditional and non-traditional* female students entering or enrolled in a community college in southern New Mexico.
* "Non-traditional" is defined as women who are not entering or did not enter college directly from high school.
Scholarship amounts range from $300 to $1000
CRITERIA FOR SPRINGBOARD! AWARD FOR GED FEES: This SpringBoard! award is for females of any age residing in southern New Mexico.
CRITERIA FOR THE ZACHARY EILAND LANSFORD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:
Graduating senior from Sierra, Otero or Union Counties; enrollment at an institution for higher learning with a degree plan to become a Registered Nurse; reputable grade point average and financial need.
Scholarship amount for the 2013-2014 academic year: approximately $400
